USA Swimming and the Hood River Valley Swim Team take safety seriously and consider it to be the top priority for our athletes. Recently USAS announced enhancements to our Safe Sport policy and education requirements as part of our continued commitment to safeguarding our athletes. The enhancements stem from requirements imposed by the U.S. Center for SafeSport (the “Center”). The Center is the separate, independent organization that oversees all sexual misconduct reports in the Olympic and Para-Olympic movement. The Center is also responsible for creating requirements in the areas of policy, education, and training for every National Governing Body (NGB) in the Movement. USA Swimming, as an NGB, must follow the Center’s requirements.
Our club is continuously working to educate our adult athletes, staff, parents, and volunteers regarding these policies and practices in order to maintain full compliance. For more information regarding Safe Sport and the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP) please visit the MAAPP member letter or the USA Swimming Safe Sport landing page.
HRVST POLICIES- In order to comply with MAAPP please read below our team policies. If you have any questions please contact HRVST Safe Sport chair Lisa Sandoval . If you would like to submit questions or comments our Board President, Karen Wright, would like to hear from you.
